What Burnout Feels Like

What Burnout Feels Like

The Body Knows When It’s Burned Out

One staffer interviewed in a recent news article said he was losing sleep and developing an eye twitch from work-related anxiety. Turns out, up to 42% of working professionals are feeling that way too.

The rate of quitting a job because of stress increases during fall and winter.

That’s why many take the edge off stress with products like this one.

If you’ve felt any of these, you may be facing it too:

  • A negative attitude towards your task list
  • Low energy and less interest
  • Feelings of emptiness
  • Dreading getting going in the morning
  • More frequent headaches, illness, or backache
  • Getting easily irritated by others
  • Not feeling like you're making a difference

Just reading that list is a bit depressing, but there’s hope.

Recovering from even milder forms of stress isn’t that hard.

Here are a few things psychologists suggest are scientifically proven to help reduce the signs and feelings of burnout:

#1. Change up your routine

We can easily get sucked into a day-to-day routine that gets pretty boring and the task lists never end.

Ever feel like you’ve relived the same day twice?

Giving time to self-care is often the last on the list. Prioritizing more relaxing activities and taking your mind off the ‘chores’ of life can help.

#2. Exercise more often

Getting active doesn’t have to mean going to a gym, doing yoga, or dance. Sometimes it’s as simple as walking more often or tackling something physical you can safely do.

Either way, moving more helps relieve stress and anxiety naturally.

#3. Rediscover your purpose

Knowing why you get up and do the same grind every day makes a big difference. Focusing on your goal (or, establishing one) helps redefine the stretches where you feel tired or burned out.

It can make it a lot easier to face adversity, setbacks, and challenges.

#4. Eat stress-relieving foods

Did you know some foods contain natural stress relievers?

Some do! Things like dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds, turmeric, hemp, and chamomile tea all contain stress relievers.

Supplements like our oil on this page also help manage stress.

In 2021, a study was conducted with 118 frontline health workers who were all experiencing various levels of burnout at work.

The Brazilian hospital found that with just 150mg of CBD oil per day they saw a significant score reduction on the Maslach Burnout Inventory scale, which measures emotional exhaustion. [1]

The incredible thing is, these workers didn’t have to change anything. All they did was take a dropper each day.

If you get the sense that stress might be creeping up on you, don’t wait until you hit burnout.

Try making a small change and take care of yourself.

You’re definitely worth it!
